Regional Cooperation
we know from experience.
Powerful, meaningful change happens when people and communities take ownership of their future. Save the Dells supports and collaborates with individuals and organizations whose missions and goals align with those of Save the Dells and the citizens of the region.
From The Grassroots level...
Save the Dells works to support and promote community members and groups who are embodying a change-making spirit and address regional issues including
-
Working toward a Granite Dells Regional Park and Preserve
-
Protection of open space
-
Water sustainability
-
Smart and sustainable growth
-
Transparency and integrity of elected officials
-
Planning and preparing for the impacts of wildfire, drought, flooding, and increased temperatures
To the Regional Level.
The Prescott General Plan underscores that a regional approach to growth management, wildlife corridors, open space, recreation, transportation, and land planning is crucial to the protection of natural resources and effective, sustainable use of the land (pg 74).
With these objectives in mind, Save the Dells
-
participates in stakeholder groups,
-
organizes collaborative meetings and dialogue, and
-
meets with city, county and state officials, and speaks one-on-one with city and county officials to work towards these goals.
As our communities continue to grow and evolve and new topics of interest arise, Save the Dells carefully evaluate new issues and take positions on those that align with our mission.
