Planning our shared future with
our endorsements
We need a city council that understands that land conservation supports healthy economic development, champions science-based water management, and commits wholly to an ethic of transparency and public representation in these decisions.
We think personal integrity and honesty are the highest qualifications.

Three council seats (terms 2025-2029) will be decided at the November 4th, 2025, General Election.

You can find details about the November General Election at this link.

In previous City of Prescott elections, Save the Dells has endorsed candidates based upon interviews with each and/or answers to questionnaires.
Our website, newsletters, social media posts, and public comments make our values and positions on important City issues obvious.
And certain candidates used this transparency to parrot our positions and values, and then their actual positions became clear later.
So this year, we’ve based our candidate endorsements on this information:
-
Personal knowledge of a candidate
-
Statements made by the candidates in the media, interviews, forums, and other public settings
-
Positions taken
-
Funding behind the Prescott United Political Action Committee, which supports two candidates

Our endorsed candidates

-
are not supported by developer interests, which might oppose protecting open space or promote the widening of SR 89 for personal gain;
-
have strong, consistent positions;
-
supported Proposition 484 fully and from the beginning;
-
are knowledgeable and rational about our region's water, are scientifically engaged, have clear policy, prioritize Upper Verde, and support CWAG;
-
have time, intellect, experience, interest, and drive to dig into the details of tough, complex issues;
-
are team builders; and
-
recognize the historic and aesthetic value of the Dells Narrows, understand that wider roads are not safer, are open to creative solutions, and respect the insights of the public.

ISSUES WE SUPPORT OR OPPOSE
WE SUPPORT
voter choice through Proposition 484,
the "Open Space Amendment" on the August 5th Primary Ballot.
We supported the petitioners' initiative and now stand 100% behind Proposition 484. The taxpayer-owned open space properties written into Proposition 484 need Charter protection now.
WE OPPOSE
excessive modification and rock blasting along
State Route 89 through the Dells Narrows.
This roadway is the most scenic entrance to the City of Prescott and should be maintained in its current state as much as possible while improving motorist safety. The improvement project, based on replacing effluent lines, has lost sight of the public's desire to maintain the road's character and history.
WE SUPPORT
City staff and public efforts resulting in language in the 2025 DRAFT General Plan that includes sustainability, protected open space, dark skies, wildlife corridors, and participation in Tree City USA.
A General Plan serves as a policy guide, outlining the city's vision for the future, including land use, transportation, and natural resources.
